For more than 400 years, people have sought Mary’s intercession for the safe delivery of a healthy baby and the health of a nursing mother. Couples have also visited the First Marian Shrine in America – now the National Shrine of Our Lady of La Leche – to ask for Mary’s maternal help in heaven to help them achieve a pregnancy and bring the precious gift of life into our world.
As part of our diocesan celebration for the Canonical Coronation of Our Lady of Leche on Oct. 10, we are encouraging Catholics everywhere to view the livestream of the coronation and to send us your prayer intentions. We will pray for your special intentions on Monday, Oct. 11, the feast day for Our Lady of La Leche, in the Historic Chapel of the National Shrine.
